What is the sealing wax?

The sealing wax is a paste made from a delicate mixture of resins and waxes, which is
used to close and seal letters, documents, packages and bottles among others.

To seal a document or product a wax seal is needed. Originally they were used by kings
and popes, who wore rings or have exclusive metal plates engraved with their coat
of arms or other royal insignia to stamp over the melted wax.

One of the traditional sealing waxes properties is to become brittle when cooled; this
means that the seal has to be broken to open the document and thus ensure that it
has not been tampered or altered before being delivered to its consignee.

Nowadays it is used to give a special touch to correspondence, to decorate invites,
to create a guarantee seal on bottles and containers in general or to decorate any
product adding an elegant touch to differentiate them in the market.
